Grandpa Ken

Founder, Chief Brand Grandpa

Ken Blackmon, lovingly known as “Grandpa Ken,” is the heart behind The Neighborly.

After inheriting a small oil & lubricants business from father-in-law Guy Linsley, Ken spent the following decades serving his community & doing right by folks, growing loyal customers in the process.

He grew the business to include not only traditional fueling stations, but what would become known as the modern convenience store. With nothing but grit, vision, and an unshakable work ethic, he laid the foundation for what is now The Neighborly— a name that reflects not just our brand, but the values he lived by.

Ken believed in showing up early, staying late, and treating people like family. He never asked for recognition— he just did the work, day in and day out, to provide for his family and serve his community with integrity.

Thanks to his commitment, our business has stood the test of time. Four generations later, The Neighborly is still proudly owned and operated by the Blackmon family, continuing Ken’s legacy of hard work, hometown pride, and genuine neighborly service.

We wouldn’t be here without Grandpa Ken— and we carry his spirit with us every day.
